Exposure is a triangle, but not a mystery
Three controls let light in: how wide the hole is, how long it's open, and how sensitive the sensor is. Any two of them can be traded for the third.
What matters is that each one costs you something else. Aperture costs depth of field. Shutter costs motion. ISO costs noise. There is no free setting, and every photograph is a decision about which cost you can live with.
